Contract caterer Wilson Vale has reported an 11% increase in turnover to just under £34m for the fiscal year ending 31 December 2018 (FY2018).

According to the company, the increase was driven by significant retentions and new growth.

The company has retained six out of seven clients across ten locations, who went out to tender last year. The company is currently waiting for a decision on its final client.

It has also added new clients during the year, including Herne Hill School in Central London, Kent College in Pembridge, and Lane End conference centre near High Wycombe.

Wilson Vale co-founder Andrew Wilson said: “It’s good to report that our continued investment in our management structure and resources have resulted in a positive set of numbers for 2018.

“Hard work, commitment, innovation, enjoyment and strong determination to maintain the highest level of client service standards go hand-in-hand with it.”

“Investment on its own, of course, is never enough. Hard work, commitment, innovation, enjoyment and strong determination to maintain the highest level of client service standards go hand-in-hand with it. Our retentions are undoubtedly as a result of this focus on relationships with our clients.”

The catering firm also reported a 10% increase in costs during FY2018 due to significant investments in the business, a new sustainable corporate headquarters and a HR / payroll system to support its growth.

In addition, the company currently serves and supports 95 clients through its operations team of four general managers and twelve area managers. It employs 818 people to date.

Wilson added: “We have a strong management team in place that has the capacity to cope comfortably with our expected growth this year.

“Of course, we are not immune to a potential fall in business confidence, but we are fortunate to partner with strong successful businesses and our focus will remain on supporting them and keeping our food and service standards high.”

Furthermore, Wilson Vale is projecting its annual turnover to be £35.5m for 2019.
