Blue Pepper Catering acquires New Yorkshire Foods
Blue Pepper Catering, Ltd., a provider of food catering services, has acquired New Yorkshire Food, Ltd., a provider of food delivery services to offices. Both companies involved in the transaction are based in the UK. The acquisition allows Blue Pepper to grow and offer new services.
The Middleby buys Josper
The Middleby Corp., a line of cooking equipment and related products designer, manufacturer, marketer, distributor based in the US, has acquired Josper S.A., a Spanish charcoal grill and oven cooking equipment manufacturer for commercial foodservice and residential applications. Josper has generated annual revenues approximately USD20 million.
Parag Milk Foods to acquire assets from Danone Foods and Beverages
Parag Milk Foods Ltd., a producer of dairy products, has agreed to acquire the curd and yogurt manufacturing facility in Haryana from Danone Foods and Beverages India Pvt., for INR300 million (USD4.56 million). Both the companies are based in India. Strategic Growth Advisors Pvt. Ltd is acting as financial advisor to Parag Milk Foods. The acquisition enables to strengthening Parag MilkFoods fresh category distribution and product portfolio in the North and North-East regions of India.
Square obtains assets of Zesty
Square, Inc., a mobile payment solutions provider, has acquired assets of Zesty, Inc., a catering platform providing online service allowing users to order a healthy meal for takeout or delivery. Both companies involved in the transaction are based in the US. Chris Hollindale is the founder and chief executive officer of Zesty. The transaction would enable Square to expand its Caviar’s corporate catering business and strengthen its white-glove catering logistics.
Big Rock Brewery to form joint venture with Fireweed Brewing
Big Rock Brewery Inc., a producer of craft beers and cider, has entered into an agreement to form a joint venture (JV) with Fireweed Brewing Corp., a craft brewing company. Both companies involved in the transaction are based in Canada. Wayne Arsenault is the president and CEO of Big Rock Brewery, while Tod Melnyk is the president and CEO of Fireweed. The transaction is expected to become effective on 31st May with its operations to commence in June 2018. The transaction would enable both Big Rock Brewery and Fireweed Brewing to grow its businesses.
Bunzl acquires Monte Package
Bunzl plc, a UK-based non-food consumable products distributor and supplier, has acquired Monte Package Company, a US-based distributor of packaging products to fresh food growers. In 2017, Monte Package had revenue of USD58 million.
Deli Star merges with Deli Star Ventures (King’s Food Products)
Deli Star Corporation, a cooked meats producer for sandwich and salad makers, has merged with Deli Star Ventures Inc., (King’s Food Products), a confectionary fudge producer and co-packer of several brands of sauces, dressings and salsas. Both companies involved in the transaction are based in the US. Following the transaction, Deli Star will remain the same, with Justin Siegel serving as president and with Dan Siegel and Tom Siegel continuing to serve on the board. All 90 employees will retain their jobs, and all King’s Food employees will now be offered enhanced benefits and the opportunity to be part of an exciting culture that promotes personal growth opportunities. The transaction will allow both companies to enhance its ability to deliver quality, innovative, clean label products with great value to our customers.
