Domino’s Pizza has opened its first store in Port Louis, Mauritius, through local operator Island Living, the country’s master franchisee.

The store, which is located in the middle of Port Louis, has a spacious seating facility, a kid’s corner and a front row seat for customers to watch the pizza-making process.

Domino’s plans to open a second store before the end of this year in the Beau Bassin community, which is considered to be the local population’s food hub.

Currently, Domino’s has 15,300 stores in over 85 markets. Over 50% its global retail sales is generated from its overseas stores.

The pizza chain generated global retail sales of over $12.2bn in fiscal 2017. Of this, over $5.9bn had come from the US and over $6.3bn through international stores.

In the third quarter of 2018, Domino’s global retail sales stood at almost $3.1bn. It generated US sales of more than $1.5bn and international sales of nearly $1.6bn.
