US-based Great Harvest Bread is offering franchise opportunity in Evanston, Chicagoland, as part of efforts to expand throughout North Shore.

The move by the bakery-café brand follows its recent announcement regarding the sale of the Evanston location, which has been owned by franchisee Dave Schaps for more than 16 years.

Schaps is looking out for other opportunities with the brand and the company wants a local entrepreneur to independently own and operate the Evanston location.

The company also said that the Evanston location offers growth potential to develop six to ten Great Harvest cafes in the surrounding areas.

Great Harvest Bread CEO Mike Ferretti said: “The opportunity to operate Great Harvest in Evanston is particularly rewarding because of its long established history in the community.

“A new owner will be able to make the current space their own because Great Harvest doesn’t set limits on franchisees’ creativity and flexibility for store hours, store design, creating new menu items, etc.
