US-based online and mobile food ordering company GrubHub has completed the integration of its restaurant network onto the Yelp platform.

The integration follows a long-term partnership entered by both the companies to capitalise on each company’s assets and advance online takeout and delivery.

As part of that agreement announced in August 2017, Grubhub will acquire Yelp’s Eat24 business for $287.5m in cash, and Yelp will integrate online ordering from all Grubhub restaurants onto its platform.

The integration will allow diners to discover and order from roughly 75,000 local restaurants through either Grubhub or Yelp.

In addition, Grubhub restaurant partners can drive more volumes in all markets with more orders and new diners while Yelp users can benefit from Grubhub’s overall lowest-cost delivery and order from more local restaurants.

Grubhub founder and chief executive officer Matt Maloney said: “We’re thrilled to complete our integration with Yelp, which enhances the online ordering experience for diners and will drive more orders to our restaurants from Yelp’s tens of millions of monthly users.
