US-based upscale restaurant chain Legal Sea Foods (LSF) has established a partnership with Charoen Pokphand Foods (CP Foods) to jointly introduce premium shrimp products in North America.

As part of the deal, CP Foods will co-pack premium shrimp products that will be distributed under Legal Sea Foods.

Several fresh frozen and quality items will be produced by CP Foods using shrimps sourced from its biosecure aquaculture farms.

"All of our shrimp are raised in closed system, environment-friendly farms and are fed with feed utilising fishmeal certified by the Global Standard for Responsible Supply."

Both the companies will launch the premium quality seafood to North American consumers at the Seafood Expo North America and Seafood Processing North America or Boston Seafood Show 2019.

CP Foods aquaculture business unit chief operating officer Sujint Thammasart said: “All of our shrimp are raised in closed system, environment-friendly farms and are fed with feed utilising fishmeal certified by the Global Standard for Responsible Supply (IFFO RS).

“Our shrimp feed, seeds, farms and processing plants are recognized as best-in-class within the aquaculture industry, while Legal Sea Foods is the number one seafood brand in America. This makes for a very synergistic partnership.”
