LSG Sky Chefs Lounge has received a contract to manage Japan Airlines’ (JAL) Sakura and First Class Lounges at Terminal 2 of Frankfurt Airport.

As part of the contract, LSG Lounge team has developed a new gastronomic concept featuring accompanying equipment, and a new design of the facility.

Catering firm’s Japanese chef Takugo Kobayashi, along with his team, assisted the company to develop the culinary concept.

LSG Lounge managing director Carsten Oellerich said: “We are delighted to now be able to also offer Japan Airlines’ guests an excellent stay at the Frankfurt lounges.”

“It is very important for us to understand the airline’s heritage and brand values and reflect them in our concept.”

The company started managing JAL lounges in Frankfurt from last month. Both companies initially established their collaboration at New York’s JFK Airport in 2018, under which, LSG is managing JAL lounge at the airport.

LSG Lounger director operations and projects Jean-Claude Dichtl said: “It is very important for us to understand the airline’s heritage and brand values and reflect them in our concept.”

Last month, the airline caterer extended its catering contract with Delta Air Lines for four years and is offering catering services to 38 stations across Belgium, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea and the US.
