McDonald’s is planning to hire more than 1,000 employees as part of its annual West Hiring Day across Western Canada.

The move by the restaurant chain is a part of its ongoing commitment to offer employment opportunities at a variety of experience levels.

Out of the 1,000 employees, over 400 will be hired from British Columbia and Alberta, and more than 130 from Manitoba on 4 June.

Participating restaurants in these regions will hire employees for various positions including crew, managerial roles and guest experience leader positions.

“West Hiring Day is an important day for our organisation which emphasises the importance we place on providing meaningful career development.”

McDonald’s Victoria franchisee Ken Taylor said: “Together with fellow franchisees, we are excited to be creating new employment opportunities across British Columbia.

“We encourage people with all different types of experience to apply, whether it is a young person looking for their first role out of school, or a seasoned professional looking for a management position.”
