Online food ordering service BellyMelly has announced the launch of its services in Chicago, US, enabling users in the city to order takeout from their favourite restaurants.

The online food ordering service has reduced the processing rates to 5% per order for restaurants in the city.

BellyMelly is a restaurant-friendly marketplace and works with local restaurant owners to transition them away from damaging third-party platforms.

BellyMelly founder David Litchman said: “I have spent over 30 years in the Chicago restaurant industry and have seen firsthand how third-party technologies and their hidden fees, penalties and charges can cause serious problems for local restaurants.

“Our goal is to put the relationship back into food ordering by encouraging and inspiring people to play a more active role in supporting the local restaurant economy and serving their communities.”
