British seafood chain Restaurant Nathan Outlaw has been awarded the top spot in the best places to dine in the UK, according to the Good Food Guide 2019 by Waitrose & Partners (GFG).

The restaurant has received a score of ten, along with fine-dining chain Cumbria’s L’Enclume, and was commended for its ‘knack for deploying first-rate seafood to its ultimate advantage’ and ‘confident cooking’.

L’Enclume was given ten points for its service that highlights the food and drink, as well as the farm-to-table operation from chef Simon Rogan.

GFG selects restaurants based on various criteria including reducing food waste, catering for vegans and vegetarians and pre-pay option for diners.

The other top restaurants include Restaurant Sat Bains, Ynyshir, Claude Bosi at Bibendum, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Casamia, Pollen Street Social and The Fat Duck.
