Virtual Dining Concepts founder and restaurateur Robert Earl has launched Wing Squad, a virtual restaurant chain that will offer delivery of chicken wings from ghost kitchens via third-party services apps.

Wing Squad will offer wings, sides and sweets to customers through food delivery services such as GrubHub, DoorDash, Uber Eats and Postmates.

Initially, Wing Squad will be launched in 16 US cities, including Boston, ChicagoDetroit, HoustonLas Vegas, Los AngelesSeattle and Washington DC. Further locations will be added regularly.

Earl said: “Food delivery has quickly become an everyday occurrence for many people, so I created Wing Squad as part of my Virtual Dining Concepts network.

“Wing Squad will be delivery only, which allows us to launch from a wide range of locations. With this business model, the sky is the limit.”

The cut-down in traditional labour and overhead costs due to the use of existing restaurants and delivery services implies that Wing Squad can offer products to consumers at an affordable price. Furthermore, its wings are claimed to be free of antibiotics or preservatives.

According to Earl, the on-brand packaging is expected to catch the diner’s attention by offering an on-trend photo opportunity along with the meal.

The online menu at Wing Squad will provide wings in six flavours, including BBQ, Honey Garlic, Cajun, Garlic Parmesan, Sweet Chili and Buffalo. It will also feature an option of sides, including mac and cheese, two salads, chips, celery and carrots, as well as dressings.

Dessert options include chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookie or chocolate chip brownies.
