UK-based grocery retailer Asda has revealed plans for a £10m ($13.5m) refurbishment programme across its more than 180 in-store cafés to enhance customer experience.

The programme will be led by partner Compass and will see the introduction of new technology, menu innovations and a fresh look and feel.

One Retail, a division of Compass, managing director Andrew Jones stated: “It’s great to continue our longstanding partnership with Asda, expanding to work across more stores and enhancing the offer with a significant rebrand and investment.”

The refurbishment will introduce a new aesthetic design for a relaxed coffee shop atmosphere, incorporate digital ordering screens and table service, with an option of a manned till.

The project is commencing in June 2025 and aims for completion by the end of October.

The updated menu will feature classic favourites and new offerings as well as a new sharing range. Asda’s pizzas will also be available and the “Kids Eat for £1” deal will continue. New additions will be made to the hot drinks menu and the range of cakes.
