Popeyes has announced the return of its wings selection throughout the US, now featuring a new mild marinated base across its bone-in wings range.

The updated menu highlights three sauce flavours, Signature Hot, Honey BBQ and Sweet ‘N’ Spicy — alongside four fresh dry rub options: Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parm, Ghost Pepper and Buffalo.

Each wing begins with a mild marinated base, infused with a mix of Louisiana seasonings, and fried to a golden crispness, complementing any additional flavouring.

The Signature Hot wings are now served on this mild base with a sweetened Cajun hot sauce twist.

The Sweet ‘N Spicy wings are coated in a glaze that blends garlic, ginger and chilli, while the Honey BBQ flavour offers a barbecue taste.

The new dry rubs introduce a variety of tastes, with Ghost Pepper rub adding heat to the Louisiana seasoning blend.

Lemon Pepper rub provides a tangy flavour, Garlic Parm rub combines parmesan cheese and garlic, and Buffalo rub offers a balance of flavour and heat.

Popeyes’ wings are available from $5.99 for a six-piece serving.

Popeyes culinary innovation vice-president chef Amy Alarcon said: “When we launched wings in 2023, the response was incredible, but our guests made it clear they wanted more variety, especially when it came to milder heat levels.

“We went back to the kitchen and paired our mild base with our Louisiana marination which serves as the perfect canvas for both bold and balanced flavour. From the all-new dry rubs to returning fan-favourite sauces, every element was carefully crafted to give our guests more ways to enjoy wings.”

Aligning with the relaunch, the brand has partnered with National Football League (NFL) quarterback Baker Mayfield for the “Better Wings, Better Mayfield” campaign, which will be promoted through radio, social media platforms and TV.

From 4 September 2026, fans can get their free wings in line with Mayfield’s scores.
