US-based fast-casual restaurant brand Smashburger has launched a new restaurant at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, California, serving military personnel and their families.

The opening is part of Smashburger’s growth strategy, with plans to add between 12 and 15 new locations by the summer of 2026, including sites in Charlotte and Salt Lake City.

The company is focusing on adaptability and expansion into non-traditional venues.

The new restaurant will offer a breakfast menu along with its signature Certified Angus Beef burgers and hand-crafted chicken sandwiches, including options such as the Classic Smash, the All-American Smash, the Bacon Stack Smash and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich.

Additional menu items will include Chicken Tenders, Smash Tots and fresh-brewed coffee, providing quick meals or convenient options for those working shifts.
