Subway Canada has introduced a new menu option, Power Bowls, aimed at meeting the growing demand for protein-rich meals.

The launch of Power Bowls marks a strategic move to cater to the 71% of Canadians who prioritise protein in their diets – a figure that has more than doubled since 2015.

The new range of five Power Bowls features two chef-designed options: Piri Piri Chicken and Southwest Steak and Avocado.

Each bowl is designed to deliver a significant protein boost, with the addition of Subway’s new Fiesta Beans & Corn Salad providing a plant-based element.

The Power Bowls are made to order with fresh vegetables and offer a convenient meal choice.

As part of an introductory offer, Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki and Rotisserie-Style Chicken Power Bowls are available for C$10.99 ($7.96).

The Piri Piri Chicken Bowl contains 29 grams of protein. It comprises rotisserie-style chicken, a rice blend and vegetables topped with Piri Piri sauce and garlic aioli.

The Southwest Steak and Avocado Bowl offers 26 grams of protein and features Canadian-sourced steak, avocado and chipotle southwest sauce.

Subway Canada menu strategy and innovation director Samara Foisy stated: “Canadians are looking for simple, satisfying ways to meet their nutrition goals without compromising on taste.

“Power Bowls are rooted in real wellness, not trends. They’re built with high-quality protein, crisp veggies and bold flavours, making it easier than ever to eat well on the go.”

To encourage a healthy lifestyle, Subway Canada has announced a collaboration with Canadian fitness experts Joanne McLeod and Hal Johnson.

McLeod said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Subway Canada, [which has been a] leader in offering the nation quick, affordable and better-for-you options that help families across the country live a balanced, healthy life.”

The brand has 3,000 locations across Canada.

In April 2025, the company unveiled Doritos Footlong Nachos for a limited period across the country.
