US food delivery platform DoorDash has introduced a new app, Zesty, that uses AI to help users identify local restaurants and share recommendations.
The app is currently available in the San Francisco Bay area and New York for beta testing.

In an Instagram post, the company said that users can enter prompts to receive tailored suggestions.
DoorDash co-founder Andy Fang stated on X that the app “curates the best suggestions from the web,” pulling together information from DoorDash itself, in addition to Google Maps, TikTok and other sources.
Zesty includes social-network-style functions, allowing users to view and share photos and comments about places they have visited, discover posts from other users and follow them.
A DoorDash spokesperson told TechCrunch: “At DoorDash, we’re always looking for new ways to help people connect with the best of their communities.

By GlobalData“We’re piloting an app called Zesty to make it easier to discover great nearby restaurants, coffee shops, bars and more through personalised search and social sharing. We’re excited to learn from early testers as we keep shaping what local discovery can look like.”
The launch signals DoorDash’s move beyond food delivery into restaurant discovery and social networking features.
In August 2025, the company rolled out a range of new features for its DoorDash for Business platform to improve the management of employee meal programmes.
The updates are intended to simplify administrative tasks for HR, finance and operations teams while enhancing the overall experience for employees.
