Cold Stone Creamery brand leader Blake Borwick stated: “Cold Stone is a staple in many communities around the nation, and for more than 35 years, we’ve served premium products and created personalised experiences for our customers that’s kept them coming back.

“We plan to bring the same commitment and support to Birmingham and the entrepreneurs who are inspired to become small business owners who want to spread joy in their community.”

The brand entered the Birmingham market in 2024 and currently operates a site in Trussville serving the metropolitan area.

Elsewhere in the state, it runs stores in Huntsville, Dothan and Albertville, and is set to add a further location in Auburn.

To support its latest round of openings in the Birmingham area, the company is looking to recruit franchise partners, targeting both newcomers and operators with experience running multiple units.

Franchisees receive access to the brand’s support infrastructure, including operational tools and guidance.

Cold Stone Creamery owner in Albertville Jessica Bearden stated: “My husband and I have owned and operated a trucking business for more than 20 years, growing alongside our community.

“As the area continued to thrive, we saw an opportunity to create a place where families and friends could relax, spend time together and enjoy a great dessert. We’ve always loved Cold Stone, and with the nearest location more than 60 miles away at the time, we knew the brand would be a perfect fit.”

In September 2025, the company set out plans to increase its presence in the Greater Houston area of Texas, identifying the region as a key focus for franchise expansion.

That strategy includes a target of 10 additional stores in the Houston market by 2030.
