US barbecue chain Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has opened a new restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario, as it continues to build its presence in the Canadian market.

Situated at 5100 Erin Mills Parkway, in the Erin Mills area of the city, the outlet includes halal options on its menu.

It serves the brand’s smoked meats such as brisket, ribs, chicken and sausages, along with sandwiches and traditional side dishes.

Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants CEO Laura Rea Dickey said: “Our Canadian guests have embraced our Texas style barbecue with such enthusiasm.

“Opening in Mississauga allows us to serve even more families and introduce them to our slow smoked menu and warm hospitality. We look forward to celebrating many delicious moments with this community.”

The site is operated under franchise by local owners and business partners Muhammad Faisal and Imran Muzaffa.

The Mississauga location offers dine-in, takeaway, delivery, kerbside collection and catering services.

Earlier this month, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit unveiled a new opening in Airdrie, Alberta, as part of the company’s wider Canadian rollout.

In September, the chain outlined plans to open more than 60 additional outlets by the end of the year, taking its systemwide total to more than 400 restaurants globally.
