Brussels South Charleroi Airport (BSCA) in Belgium has awarded a contract to SSP Group to open and operate 12 food and beverage outlets.

As part of the contract, the travel catering firm will establish restaurants such as Starbucks, Burger King, Panos and Camden Food on the third floor of the airport.

The first store will be opened in December, followed by others in August 2019.

“We’ll be able to ensure great quality service and that there will be something of appeal for all our passengers.”

BSCA’s CEO Jean-Jacques Cloquet said: “We’re delighted to welcome SSP as a new partner of the airport.

“Our innovative new concepts mean we’ll be able to ensure great quality service, and that there will be something of appeal for all our passengers.”

Last month, SSP Group secured an eight-year contract to open and operate ten food and beverage outlets at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport in Spain. Valued at €17m a year, the contract will see the opening of local and international brands such as Starbucks, SOHO Coffee, Burger King, O’Learys Bar & Restaurant and Enrique Tomás.
