India-based quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain Biggies Burger is preparing to launch its larger format Bigg Café outlets across the country, reported ETHospitalityWorld.

The launch includes opening of new franchisees and transforming approximately 70 existing cafes into larger Bigg Café outlets.

The burger QSR chain aims to open around 350 new outlets by 2024 primarily in big cities’ satellite towns as well as in Tier II and III Indian cities, Biggies Burger founder Biraja Prasad Rout told the publication.

Rout further noted that Biggies Burger intends to create a global burger QSR brand as well as end the monopoly of international QSR brands.

Recently, the firm opened its first Bigg Cafe in Kalyan Nagar, Bengaluru. The 2,800ft2cafe is said to be the largest cafe of its kind in India.

Rout was quoted by the publication as saying: “We are the largest home grown burger QSR today and the intention is to build an Indian global QSR.”

Established in 2011, Bigg Café currently has more than 130 outlets across 28 cities in 14 states in India.

Rout added: “90% of our upcoming outlets will be Bigg Café.”

He further noted that unlike high investments charged by big MNC brands for a franchise collaboration, Biggies Burger would offer franchise opportunities to young Indian entrepreneurs at affordable rates.

Such entrepreneurs in Tier II and III cities in India will also be able to earn improved return on investment, said Rout.

Biggies Burger has so far secured investments from three seed rounds and is not planning more fundraise soon.
