Swedish-Indonesian brunch cafe and aperitif bar Kafé Kontrast is set to open its first location in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Swedish Chef Ellinor Strinnholm will open the new restaurant in partnership with restaurant industry veteran Bunmi Okolosi.

Located in the Ceintuurbaan in De Pijp, the restaurant will have a soft launch in mid-October and will officially open on 1 November 2023.
Its menu will range from an all-day dining menu on weekdays and a special brunch menu on weekends.
On the weekdays, guests can purchase pastries and coffees for breakfast or a glass of wine for lunch.
The weekend brunch menu will include a Cinnamon bun French toast with oolong cream tea and pickled strawberries, or Indonesian pancakes with cured salmon, pine sprout oil and dabu dabu sambal.

Ellinor said: “We embrace the Swedish concept of ‘Lagom’, which means ‘not too much, not too little..but just right.’
“We like to think that the best meals are the ones that are simple and unpretentious. By letting other cultures seep into our Scandinavian kitchen, we inject our own unique identity into our cuisine. The result is a food experience that is a contrast to what is already out there.”
