Swedish airport operator Swedavia has announced the opening of a new Nordic Kitchen & Bar outlet at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

Designed to offer a Nordic dining experience to travellers, the restaurant has high glass sections from floor to ceiling, providing a front-row seat to see aircraft taking off and landing.

The interior of the restaurant and bar reflects a Nordic aesthetic with a light colour scheme and materials typical of Scandinavian design.

With a menu that highlights Nordic and Scandinavian flavours, the restaurant aims to offer guests sustainable and locally produced food.

Chef Michael Spiridon, known for his work in Michelin-starred restaurants such as Gässlingen and Michel Bras, will be the head chef.

The opening of Nordic Kitchen & Bar is part of a broader initiative to enhance the representation of Nordic and Scandinavian culture at the airport.

Swedavia marketing and sales director Charlotte Ljunggren said: “We are pleased to welcome Nordic Kitchen & Bar to Stockholm Arlanda and we hope that they will take a position as an obvious destination for passengers who want to experience Nordic cuisine in a Scandinavian environment.

Charlotta Söör, founder and co-owner of Nordic Kitchen & Bar and RC Café & Pâtisserie, said:

“Our goal is to create added value at the airport, where we want to offer a unique taste experience, with an efficient and personal service to all travellers on their journey.”

RC Café & Pâtisserie, a family-owned business since 2002, has expanded its presence at Arlanda with a total of four cafés, the Indochine restaurant and the Bon Bon Glacerie.

The new Nordic Kitchen & Bar is one of seven new establishments in the second phase of the Marketplace at Terminal 5.

In November 2023, Fazer Group opened two new Gateau cafés at terminals 2 and 5.
