Notably, Fast Food and Counter Workers jobs accounted for a 61% share of the global food service industry’s artificial intelligence-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 36% over the prior quarter.

Fast Food and Counter Workers, with a share of 61%, emerged as the top artificial intelligence-related job roles within the food service industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 36% quarter-on-quarter. Computer and Information Systems Managers came in second with a share of 5% in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 2% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent artificial intelligence roles include Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a 4% share in Q3 2022, Data Scientists with a 3% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in food service industry accounted for 43% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were AmRest Holdings, DoorDash, University of Texas at Austin Division of Housing and Food Service and Starbucks. Together they accounted for a combined share of 43% of all artificial intelligence-related active jobs in the food service industry.

AmRest Holdings posted 808 artificial intelligence-related new jobs in Q3 2022, DoorDash 82 jobs, University of Texas at Austin Division of Housing and Food Service 58 jobs, and Starbucks 28 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by Romania with a 72% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022

The largest share of artificial intelligence-related new job postings in the food service industry in Q3 2022 was in Romania with 72% followed by the US (24%) and Poland (2%). The share represented by Romania was one percentage point lower than the 73% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
