Broken Yolk Café, a breakfast and brunch franchise in the US, has signed a multi-unit development agreement to establish four new café locations in southeast Los Angeles County, in the US state of California.
The first of these, located at 8224 Firestone Blvd in Downey, is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026.
The venture is led by brothers John, Bryant and Jason Corona in collaboration with their father, Juan Corona, and uncle, Saul DeLa Rosa.
The family has a history in the hospitality industry, with Juan having been the first franchisee for El Pollo Loco in 1981.
The Corona brothers, who also operate multiple Movita Juice Bar locations, are entering the full-service restaurant sector for the first time with Broken Yolk Café.
The franchise currently operates 41 locations across Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and Texas.

By GlobalDataJohn Corona stated: “Our family had the opportunity to dine in at one of Broken Yolk Cafe’s Las Vegas locations not too long ago, and the experience left a lasting impression.
“The food was incredible, the hospitality was infectious and after getting to meet the brand’s president for ourselves, it was clear the leadership and direction of the franchise were second to none.
“Coming from the hospitality space ourselves, our interest in becoming a part of the Broken Yolk family was immediately piqued.”
The four-unit deal marks the brand’s first expansion into the Los Angeles area and signals further growth for Broken Yolk Café in California.
Broken Yolk Café president John Gelastopoulos stated: “Even as Broken Yolk stretches its roots across the American Southwest, it’s wonderful to watch as our brand continues to grow more prominent right here at home in Southern California.
“Juan’s family understands what it means to lead with a people-first mentality, and will be excellent partners in sharing our ‘Brunch on the Sunnyside’ mantra with new communities along the West Coast.”
