CAVA, a fast-casual dining chain specialising in Mediterranean cuisine, has opened its first restaurant in Pittsburgh in the US state of Pennsylvania.

Situated at 3619 Forbes Avenue, the new restaurant, known as CAVA Oakland, occupies 2,500ft² and includes a dining area and options for digital order pick-up and delivery services.

The company plans to open a second location in Pittsburgh in the second half of 2025.

CAVA’s menu allows for extensive customisation, with chef-curated bowls, pitas, pita chips, dips and house-made juices.

The company plans at least 1,000 restaurants by 2032.

In the 2024 fiscal year, it added 58 new locations and projects a growth rate of at least 17% for 2025. It currently operates in 28 states and the District of Columbia.

The new restaurant in Oakland will provide jobs for between 25 and 40 people.

CAVA chief people officer Kelly Costanza stated: “As a University of Pittsburgh alumna myself, it’s an honour to bring CAVA to the Panthers and Pittsburgh community.

“This city has always loved great food and human connection, so we’re eager to share the bold, vibrant flavours of the Mediterranean at our Oakland location, and look forward to growing our footprint across Pittsburgh in the months ahead.”

In July 2025, CAVA opened its first restaurant in Canton in the US state of Michigan.

Located at 43450 Ford Road, the restaurant featured a dining area along with facilities for digital order pick-up and delivery.
