MSI intends to add further sites in the Wichita area, including a restaurant in Derby scheduled to start trading in March 2026.

MSI CEO Troy Morrison said: “Wichita presents an exceptional opportunity for the expansion of Chicken Salad Chick.

“Our portfolio also includes established brands such as Taco Bell and Wingstop, reinforcing our strong presence in the market. The city remains a premier market for our restaurant brands’ ongoing development and success, highlighting its strategic importance in our growth plans.”

MSI plans to develop the brand’s presence in the Wichita market through updated catering services, local partnerships and initiatives linked to the chain’s loyalty programme, targeting family occasions, office orders and social events.

The move follows MSI’s recent activity with the brand in other US regions. The company has reported growth in Texas, Indiana and Oklahoma through a combination of new openings and acquisitions.

In a statement, MSI said: “The expansion reflects MSI’s ongoing strategy of targeted market development with Chicken Salad Chick. The group has driven significant growth through new store openings and acquisitions, consistently delivering strong operational performance while supporting local communities through initiatives that support nonprofit organisations and schools.”

In September, MSI finalised a deal to acquire five Chicken Salad Chick sites in the Dallas area in Texas. Financial terms of that transaction were not disclosed.
