Zipline co-founder and CEO Keller Rinaudo Cliffton stated: “With Zipline, you tap a button, and minutes later food magically appears – hot, fresh and ultra-fast.

“Starting today, families in the Dallas area can have food delivered by Zipotle and served for lunch or dinner. What once felt like science fiction is soon going to become totally normal.”

Zipotle aims to provide a more efficient delivery, while ensuring that orders maintain their dine-in quality.

The location at 3109 Lakeview Parkway in Rowlett will be the first to offer this delivery option.

Zipotle will operate daily from 12pm to 8pm Central Time, with plans to extend hours to 10pm in the future.

The service will initially be available to a select group of users in Rowlett, with plans for a broader rollout in the near future.

Customers can order from the entire Chipotle menu through Zipotle. Customers from the Rowlett vicinity can download the Zipline app from the Apple or Android stores and place their orders if they qualify.

Once an order is made, Chipotle staff will prepare it for collection at a designated “Zipping point”, allowing an aircraft to autonomously pick it up.

After reaching the delivery site, it will hover at around 300ft while the order is lowered to the ground, navigating around any obstacles.

Chipotle president, chief strategy and technology officer Curt Garner stated: “Zipotle is a quick and convenient source of delivery that lets guests enjoy our real food from places that are traditionally challenging to serve, including backyards and public parks.

“Zipline’s commitment to building an efficient, environmentally friendly delivery experience is synonymous with our mission ‘to cultivate a better world’.”

In May 2025, Chipotle Mexican Grill appointed Jason Kidd as its new chief operating officer.
