Fast-casual lobster roll brand Cousins Maine Lobster (CML), is broadening its reach with a strategic expansion into Los Angeles and West Virginia.

The brand has entered into an agreement with entrepreneur Karan Singh to lead its growth in the Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara markets.

Additionally, CML is marking its entry into West Virginia with grand opening events in Wood and Randolph counties.

Karan Singh, a seasoned entrepreneur, is set to take over the Los Angeles territory, with plans to launch a new food truck in Ventura in August.

Singh said: “When I first discovered Cousins Maine Lobster, I knew right away it was something special. The simplicity of the menu, the quality of the product, and the excitement it brings to every community just clicked. It’s an honour to operate the LA market and be able to expand the brand into Santa Barbara and Ventura. I am looking forward to bringing that unique experience to people who don’t get to enjoy lobster every day. Seeing the smiles and reactions when someone takes their first bite, that’s what it’s all about.”

Meanwhile, in West Virginia, husband-and-wife duo Savas and Victoria Alkoc, who already operate multiple CML food trucks, are introducing the brand to the Mountain State.

They have scheduled two grand opening events in Randolph County.

Alkoc added: “Expanding into West Virginia is an exciting milestone for us. Each new truck is proof of how far we’ve come since our first opening in 2018. We’re so proud to grow this business alongside our family and team and share the experience, energy, and flavour of Cousins Maine Lobster with even more communities.”

CML aims to open 30 new units in 2025, and reach a milestone of 100 units by the end of the year.

In 2024, CML executed more than 30 development agreements with franchisees and also pursued company-led expansions in Kansas City and Louisville.

The company is actively seeking operators who share a passion for delivering high-quality food and better customer service.

CML’s business model is designed for flexibility, allowing operators to launch food trucks within a three to six-month timeframe.

In March 2025, CML extended its presence in northwest Pennsylvania with the launch of its second truck.
