
Indian bistro Farzi Cafe is set to make its New York City debut in the Tribeca neighbourhood in mid-June 2025.
The opening of Farzi Tribeca at 78 Leonard Street is the first New York City outpost for restaurateur Zorawar Kalra’s Massive Restaurants group, as reported by ETHospitalityWorld.
Chef Gaurav Chawla, a key force behind Farzi brand’s culinary identity in India, will helm the kitchen at Farzi Tribeca.
The menu will be a homage to India’s culinary diversity, infused with seasonal influences from New York.
Dishes such as Dal Chawal Arancini and Avocado and Raw Mango Chaat will be served alongside a selection of new creations exclusive to the New York City location.
Farzi Tribeca has been entirely revamped to include a bold aesthetic, featuring a bar area and distinctive design elements.

The brainchild of Zorawar Kalra, Farzi is part of a collection of Indian dining concepts, along with Pa Pa Ya, Masala Library and Made in Punjab.
The expansion indicates a broader acceptance of Indian cuisine on the world stage.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Jiggs Kalra, Zorawar Kalra has committed his career to elevating Indian cuisine.
He stated: “New York is the ultimate culinary proving ground. Farzi’s arrival here isn’t just about opening another restaurant — it’s about showcasing India’s new culinary language to the world’s most discerning diners.”
