
Global foodservice and facilities management company Sodexo has named Cathy Desquesses as its chief people officer (CPO) starting 1 July.
Desquesses will succeed current CPO Juan Pablo Urruticoechea and will report to Sodexo CEO Denis Machuel. She will also join the executive committee.
Urruticoechea will take responsibility as Sodexo’s worldwide corporate services segment business development global head.
Machuel said: “I am delighted to welcome Cathy Desquesses to our global leadership team.
“Cathy brings to Sodexo her extensive experience in developing a global talent pipeline and, importantly, the proven ability to create and implement human resources strategies to support business growth.
“I would also like to wish Juan Pablo every success in his new role. I know he will contribute his considerable talents and skills to driving commercial success in our corporate services segment business.”

By GlobalDataPrior to this, Desquesses served as the global HR leader for Switzerland-based General Electric (GE) Power Gas. She also worked for two decades in the human resources department with GE.
Desquesses held senior HR roles at GE Corporate, GE Power, GE Capital and GE Oil & Gas in France, the US and Italy.
In March this year, Sodexo made new changes to its group executive committee. Satya Menard was named as the global CEO of its schools and universities segments and Sean Haley as the service operations CEO.
