Japan’s sushi chain, Syouchinosuke by Gattensushi, has opened its first branch in Taiwan.
The restaurant is located on the sixth floor of the LaLaport Nangang shopping mall, as reported by Taiwan News.
The new establishment will feature 17 semi-private dining booths, served by an automated express rail system.
The restaurant offers 127 Japanese dishes, with a focus on sushi and sashimi that constitutes 70% of the offerings, alongside tempura and soba.
Options include the Ise lobster nigiri, a menu highlight described as having a “sweet, springy texture and rich umami,” prepared from lobsters handled directly in-store.
The abalone, served freshly shucked to maintain its crisp texture and flavour, is another delicacy that is expected to draw in seafood enthusiasts.
