Trejo’s Tacos, the restaurant brand by US actor Danny Trejo, is set to fuel its UK expansion through the launch of a crowdfunding campaign, as reported by The Caterer.

The brand’s UK licence holders, Jerome Armit and Sean O’Kelly, aim to raise £625,000 ($842,488) via Crowdcube to open additional restaurants across the country.

Jerome Armit is JA Hospitality Consulting’s founder and a former chief operating officer at hospitality group Truffle Hunting. Sean O’Kelly has experience in the film and television industry.

The first UK-based Trejo’s Tacos in London’s Notting Hill has achieved more than £1m in turnover since May 2024.

This crowdfunding initiative is part of a broader fundraising effort, which has already attracted £600,000 from investors such as Slim Chickens founder Tom Gordon and Bank of America executive vice chairman Julian Mylchreest.

According to its Crowdcube page, the brand is also considering a collaboration with Live Nation UK to bring its offerings to festivals and events.
