US restaurant chain Wendy’s has expanded its freshly made salads lineup with the addition of parmesan caesar chicken salad.

Wendy’s parmesan caesar chicken salad is made using chopped romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes and an all-white meat, grilled chicken breast.

The new go-to fast food caesar salad is topped with a blend of asiago, parmesan and romano cheese, parmesan crisps and paired with caesar dressing by Marzetti Simply Dressed.

Wendy’s executive vice-president, chief concept and marketing officer Kurt Kane said: “Some people think they have to forfeit flavour for a quality, feel-good food option, but that just isn’t true.

“Not only do Wendy’s salads taste great, they’re made with fresh produce in-restaurant every single day. You can’t find this level of commitment everywhere, but our fans deserve the best and we’re here to deliver it.”

The salad is available in two portion options, full size and half size, and priced for $6.79 and $4.79 respectively.

The restaurant chain’s complete salads range includes Wendy’s southwest avocado chicken salad, apple pecan chicken salad, harvest chicken salad and taco salad.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Wendy’s operates more than 6,700 restaurants across the world.

Last month, the US restaurant chain reported total revenues of $1.59bn for the preliminary results of the fiscal year ending 30 December 2018 (FY2018), compared to $1.22bn for the same period last year.
