Local operator Brett Swartz will run the new restaurant. Swartz has longstanding experience in the Waco hospitality scene, leading local ventures such as Slow Rise Slice House.

Swartz noted: “This brand has been a Texas favourite for generations, and we’re proud to finally return its legendary menu and welcoming service to our hometown. Our goal is to create a place where families, students and visitors can enjoy a fun, fast and memorable meal.”

Wienerschnitzel US Franchise Development director Ted Milburn called the expansion “an exciting milestone”.

“Brett’s deep Waco roots and proven record of building successful businesses make him an ideal partner.”

The launch in Waco continues the brand’s expansion drive.

In May, it revealed plans to open six new restaurants within Walmart locations in Alamogordo, New Mexico, in Bakersfield, California, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in Puyallup, Washington, in Reno, Nevada and in Tempe, Arizona.

In July, Wienerschnitzel secured a deal to set up seven new restaurants in Norfolk and Richmond in the state of Virginia.

A month later, it signed two development agreements to launch eight new outlets across Spokane, Washington State and Fort Worth, Texas.
