
Yoshinoya America has announced the appointment of Paul Nishiyama as its new president from 1 June 2025.
Nishiyama’s track record in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) sector features several senior executive roles, including his most recent position as chief operating officer at Better Buzz Coffee and his tenure at Rubio’s Restaurants.
Yoshinoya America chairman Nori Ozawa stated: “We are delighted to welcome Paul to Yoshinoya America. His record of success and results-oriented leadership make him the perfect candidate to lead Yoshinoya America’s future expansion plans.”
Nishiyama has a record of achieving enhanced profitability along with consistent growth.
Founded in 1899 in Tokyo, Japan, Yoshinoya is one of the oldest QSR chains still in operation.
With more than a century of experience, the company operates or franchises more than 2,000 restaurants across Hong Kong, Japan, Mainland China, the Philippines, Shanghai, Singapore and Taiwan, and has 100 locations in the US state of California.

The brand now serves more than 500,000 bowls daily across its 2,000 locations.
In October 2024, Yoshinoya America appointed Glenn Lunde as CEO. Glenn previously worked with TOGO’s Eateries and held senior positions at QSR companies Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Panda Express Restaurant Group and Taco Bell.
