The company aims to lift same-store sales between 3% and 5% by 2027 through the initiative.
Shareholders will receive $6.25 in cash per share.
The repurchase follows criticism that Asda’s stewardship had shifted Leon away from its health-focused ethos.

The new outlet will serve the brand’s cold and hot sandwiches, sides and drinks, and its chocolate espresso cookies.
