US-based Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant chain CAVA will open a new outlet in the state of Michigan on 26 September 2025.

The new venue will be the brand’s second Michigan outlet and its first in the Detroit metro region.

The 3,000ft² outlet will be situated at 636 Woodward Avenue in Detroit and will offer indoor dining, digital order pick-up and delivery services.

The Detroit location will be staffed by between 25 and 40 people and will operate daily from 10.30am to 10.30pm.

The expansion is part of CAVA's broader growth strategy.

In September 2025, the brand introduced chicken shawarma as a limited-time nationwide menu option.

CAVA chief development officer Jeff Gaul stated: “We were delighted by the way the Canton community embraced our first Michigan restaurant this summer.

“As we grow across the Midwest, we’re excited to welcome Detroit to our table to experience the bold flavours of our high-quality meals and Mediterranean hospitality while living out our mission to bring heart, health and humanity to food.”

In preparation for the official opening, CAVA held a Community Day event that provided complimentary meals and collected donations for Food Rescue US – Detroit.

The company matches donations up to $1,000. Since 2019, CAVA's Community Day programme has secured more than $1m for food insecurity initiatives.

CAVA now has 400 locations across 28 US states and the District of Columbia, and is targeting 1,000 outlets by 2032.

In September 2025, CAVA opened its first restaurant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The new location includes a dining area and options for digital order pick-up and delivery services.

The company looks to launch a second location in Pittsburgh in the second half of 2025.

In the 2024 fiscal year, it added 58 new outlets and projects a growth rate of at least 17% for 2025.
