US fast-casual restaurant chain Chicken Salad Chick has expanded its reach in the state of North Carolina by launching a new outlet in the city of New Bern.
The new outlet at 3549 Dr MLK Jr Boulevard marks the first venture for franchise group SENC Foods. The restaurant will be operated by Matt Massengill and the Wickline family — Gene, Ian and Garrett.
Garrett Wickline stated: "We're incredibly excited to be opening our first Chicken Salad Chick and launching this business together.
"This brand is all about warm hospitality, fresh flavours and community, and we can't wait to share that experience with our neighbours here in New Bern."
The New Bern location will offer takeout, in-restaurant dining, third-party delivery and catering services.
The brand has set up the CSC Foundation, which offers support to organisations such as CURE Childhood Cancer and local food banks by organising fundraising events throughout the year.
In the lead-up to the official opening, the New Bern restaurant has organised friends and family fundraisers for the American Cancer Society, which focuses on patient care, cancer research and lifesaving advocacy.
Chicken Salad Chick CEO Scott Deviney stated: "We're thrilled to welcome Ian, Garrett, Gene and Matt to the Chicken Salad Chick family as they open our first location in New Bern.
“New Bern is a vibrant and growing community, and it's an important part of our continued expansion across North Carolina. We're excited to bring our made-from-scratch flavours and Southern hospitality to even more guests in this market."
Chicken Salad Chick was founded in 2008 by Stacy and Kevin Brown and is known for its selection of made-from-scratch chicken salad flavours.
Its menu also features side salads, signature sandwiches, gourmet soups and desserts.
The chain now has 310 restaurants across 22 US states.
In May 2025, it achieved a milestone with the opening of its 300th outlet.
