US-based family-run barbecue restaurant chain Dickey’s Barbecue Pit expects to open more than 60 new locations by the end of 2025.

This would take its systemwide total above 400 restaurants worldwide.

The chain has reported substantial expansion during the first three quarters of 2025.

It opened 46 new outlets in 17 US states, in Canada and in the Philippines between January and August.

New sites include locations in Alabama and Washington in the US, Alberta and Ontario in Canada, and the Philippines.

The growth coincides with increased hiring and new small business ownership prospects.

Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants CEO Laura Rea Dickey stated: “Every new opening represents not just growth for Dickey’s, but growth for communities and families.

“Our franchisees are the heart of this brand. Their success, combined with our technology, support systems and authentic barbecue, is what keeps this momentum going. We are building more than restaurants - we are building community connections across the globe.”

Dickey’s had a difficult 2024, registering its slowest year on record amid increasing expenses and negative publicity related to some franchise litigation.

Laura Rea Dickey said: "We took a serious look at our business and built a two-year plan to return Dickey's to its position as a top fast casual restaurant brand. We have seen an enormous sales recovery.

“Our most important overall goal, driving all of our plans, is exceptional profitability and financial success of our amazing family of franchisees.

In September 2025, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit announced plans to open a new outlet in Cañon City, Colorado, to be led by franchisee Bobby Rusnak.
