US Fast food chain KFC has announced the return of its Potato Wedges and Hot & Spicy Wings to menus across the country from 18 August 2025.

The decision follows a strong call for their return by customers, including social media comments and petitions.

Potato Wedges were first added to the KFC menu in the mid-1990s, then discontinued in 2020.

A test relaunch of wedges was carried out in Tampa, Florida, where it led to a fast sell-out.

Hot & Spicy Wings are also making a comeback. The wings, which have not been on the menu for nearly two years, feature a spicy marinade and are coated with extra crispy breading.

Customers can order Potato Wedges as a standalone side, replace another side with them, or purchase them as part of a new combo of six wings, wedges and a medium drink.

KFC's range of deals includes a $3.99 Chicken Sandwich, a $20 Wings & Wedges Fan Favorites Box, a digital-exclusive offer of 20 wings for $20 from 4 September 2025, and the ongoing $10 Tuesday deal for select chicken items.

KFC US president Catherine Tan-Gillespie stated: "Wedge-lovers, we heard you — and we agree it's been five long years without wedges. But the wait is over [... and] we're turning feedback into action as we chart our Kentucky Fried Comeback, a bold, brand-wide rally to give people more reasons to fall in love with us all over again."

The fast-food chain, which operates 30,000 restaurants globally, is part of Yum! Brands.

The parent company registered a net income of $374m in the second quarter of 2025, up from $367m in the same period of the previous year.

In May 2025, KFC committed to a $2bn investment in the UK and Ireland up to 2029, aimed at its restaurant modernisation.
