Enterprise food waste management company Leanpath has introduced a new touchless AI floor scale for high-volume commercial kitchens.

The unit connects to Leanpath's existing AI platform, which examines food waste and produces suggested operational adjustments tailored to each kitchen.

The floor scale employs embedded machine vision to instantly record photos and operational details of the recognised waste items with no user intervention.

Data gathered by the unit is fed into Leanpath's food waste dashboard to provide analytics, reports and guidance designed to support chefs and managers respond to waste insights.

Leanpath vice-president of Product Brennan Hogan stated: "This floor scale was engineered for the realities of high-volume kitchens.

"It introduces vision-based automation in a way that simplifies workflows, improves data consistency, and reduces the need for training. Each recorded waste event encompasses item-category identification and detailed metadata to support root-cause analysis and offer real-time visibility.

The floor scale is natively integrated with Leanpath’s broader ecosystem, including its online dashboards, daily briefings, mobile app and enterprise reporting tools.

It is built to support large-scale operations without interrupting workflow.

In April 2025, US-based culinary and support services provider Forefront partnered with Leanpath to implement AI-enabled food waste management solutions across its kitchens.
