Serve Robotics and DoorDash have formed an alliance to introduce autonomous robot deliveries across the US.

Under the multi-year collaboration, customers in Los Angeles placing orders through the DoorDash app from participating merchants may receive deliveries via Serve’s autonomous sidewalk robots.

The tie-up expands the potential order volume available to Serve and supports DoorDash’s multi-modal delivery approach.

It combines Dashers, drones and autonomous robots to manage growing demand while reducing emissions and congestion.

Serve Robotics co-founder and CEO Dr Ali Kashani stated: “We are thrilled to join forces with DoorDash to help bring the future of delivery to life.

“Serve has long been a leader in autonomous delivery, and this partnership allows us to serve more customers.

“By teaming up with DoorDash, we are accelerating our vision to make sustainable, reliable robotic delivery available in every neighbourhood across the US.”

DoorDash's logistics infrastructure and autonomous delivery platform are designed to optimise a range of delivery methods at scale.

The inclusion of Serve’s technology will help match orders with the most effective delivery mode.

Serve Robotics operates in the US cities of Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta, and has completed more than 100,000 deliveries from more than 2,500 restaurants.

DoorDash labs head of product Harrison Shih stated: “At DoorDash, we’re building a multi-modal logistics platform where Dashers, autonomous robots and drones each play a role in making deliveries faster, more efficient and more sustainable.

“Partnering with Serve gives our platform even more delivery options, expanding how we fulfil orders for consumers and merchants alike.”

In June 2025, Serve Robotics initiated its operations in the Atlanta metropolitan region in partnership with Uber Technologies’ delivery platform, Uber Eats.

The robots were embedded within the Uber Eats application for local eateries.
