The Ark Pub & Eatery in the US state of New Jersey has changed hands, with restaurateur Mort Nase taking ownership of the long‑running tavern.
The sale was facilitated by commercial real estate company Bielat Santore & Company.
Richard Santore, vice‑president of the company’s Allenhurst office, was the broker for the transaction.
Set up in 1976, the Ark offers a menu including burgers and seafood alongside a range of beverages.
The property sits on Route 35 in Point Pleasant Beach, an area that includes a mix of accommodation options from motels to higher‑end hotels.
In 2008, ownership of The Ark transferred to brothers Tony and Dan Bartone via Bielat Santore & Company.
Nase arrives with more than four decades of experience in the sector.
Before running his own venues, he was general manager at Frankie’s in Point Pleasant, and in 2012 he acquired the Windward Tavern in Bricktown, New Jersey, in a deal handled by Bielat Santore & Company.
Nase intends to retain the venue’s traditional old English pub character.
He plans to review current operations before making changes so that the establishment’s distinctive character is preserved.
The Ark operates six days a week from 11:30am until 2:00am, closing on Tuesdays.
In 2025, Bielat Santore & Company have also completed the sale of Dempster’s Sports Pub & Restaurant in Mount Holly Township, New Jersey.
The sports bar, which features 20 televisions, is noted as a local hub for sports fans and supports several community sports leagues.
