Whataburger has formed a new joint venture (JV) with KMO Burger for expansion across the US Midwest.

The partnership will see the consolidation of 16 Whataburger-owned restaurants in the Kansas City and Springfield, Missouri markets, along with 13 KMO Burger establishments, all operating under the Whataburger brand.

Employees of Whataburger Restaurants currently working at these locations will become part of KMO Burger's team.

A dedicated cross-functional team has been established to facilitate a smooth transition, providing necessary support, information and care throughout the process.

KMO Burger will begin operations for all 29 restaurants upon completion of the transaction.

Whataburger is based in Texas and headquartered in San Antonio. It has more than 1,100 restaurants across 16 states.
