Zomato Food Trends has been designed to provide restaurant partners with data insights on food trends.

July 03 2023

Online food delivery firm Zomato has rolled out 'Zomato Food Trends', an open data analysis platform to support its restaurant partners in India.

The platform has been designed to provide restaurant partners with data insights on food trends.

Using these insights, restaurants can make decisions on prices, dishes, locations and more.

Partner restaurants can also tailor their strategies and make data-based decisions to grow their businesses.

The general public can access Zomato Food Trends free of charge. It will offer insights by examining data from millions of transactions carried out across various cities in India.

In a statement, Zomato said: "The platform has been launched with "an aim to support both current and budding restaurant partners in taking a data-driven approach towards decision making."

Furthermore, the platform will enable the company's restaurant partners to identify demand and supply gaps at a local level.

In a blog post, Zomato said: "Our aim is to democratise aggregated data insights – levelling the playing field, particularly for smaller restaurants, to ensure they can make informed and evidence-based decisions."

According to the company, the Indian restaurant industry has undergone a significant change in recent years to meet the evolving requirements of both the market and consumers' choices.

India's food entrepreneurs have the capability to recognise trends, find out market gaps and innovate to bridge those gaps.

Zomato added: "Zomato Food Trends is a way to support both current and budding restaurant partners in their endeavours."
