An AMRL spokesperson said: “Partnering with a globally iconic brand like Popeyes aligns strongly with our vision of offering world-class choices to travellers. Mumbai Airport T2, being one of India’s busiest and most aspirational gateways, is the perfect location for this debut.
“This collaboration reflects our focus on quality, consistency, and global relevance. We remain committed to strengthening India’s airport F&B [food and beverage] ecosystem through meaningful partnerships.”
It will serve the chain’s standard international menu, including its Louisiana-style fried chicken.
The airport launch follows Popeyes’ entry into Mumbai’s market in August, when franchise partner Jubilant FoodWorks opened three outlets in the city.

By GlobalDataJubilant FoodWorks CEO Sameer Khetarpal said: “Airports are no longer just transit points; they are where brands are discovered. Launching at Mumbai T2 allows us to engage with a high-intent, high-frequency audience and take Popeyes beyond the high street.
“After a strong response in Mumbai since August, this opening is a deliberate move to scale the brand in premium travel-led locations.”
Popeyes entered India in January 2022 through a master franchise agreement with Jubilant FoodWorks, which also operates other quick-service restaurant brands in the country.
The brand’s current expansion is concentrated in large cities, with a particular focus on Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, along with the Delhi-NCR region.
In February 2024, Jubilant FoodWorks opened a Popeyes outlet in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area, further building out the network in the capital.
