Captain D’s has further expanded its store footprint in Florida, US, by opening a new restaurant in Gainesville.
The 2,172ft² restaurant is in an end-cap unit, a format the company links to operational benefits. It includes a drive-through and a dining room with 36 seats.

It will serve the restaurant chain’s signature dishes such as batter-dipped fish, hand-breaded chicken tenders, butterfly shrimp, Nashville hot fish and grilled options.
Captain D’s chief development officer Brad Reed said: “Gainesville offers a tremendous opportunity for Captain D’s continued growth in Florida, and end-cap real estate plays an important role in our expansion strategy.
“These high-visibility locations pair especially well with experienced operators like Toks and Wanda, whose proven track record with our brand and community-forward mindset make them ideal partners.”
The Gainesville restaurant is owned by franchisees Toks Achebe and Wanda Davis, who previously brought Captain D’s to nearby Ocala.

Achebe said: “Gainesville is a dynamic city, and if you’re in the food business, you have to have a presence here.
“We know Captain D’s will quickly become a new neighbourhood favourite for its fresh, high-quality seafood, convenience and friendly service. We look forward to introducing this outstanding fast casual brand to the community.”
Captain D’s, which specialises in fast casual seafood, operates more than 530 restaurants across 23 states in the US. It has a presence in three countries.
