Indian food delivery company Zomato has launched “Healthy Subscriptions”, a new option that lets users schedule meals in advance through its Healthy Mode section.

The service relies on a dedicated subscription menu featuring dishes with a ‘High’ Healthy Score.

Zomato said that every dish is evaluated through Healthy Mode’s nutritional framework.

Each listed dish carries a ‘High’ Healthy Score based on Healthy Mode’s assessment of factors such as protein density, fibre, ingredient quality and carb density. Zomato noted that these scores and nutrition insights are AI-generated from information on the platform.

According to the food delivery platform, Healthy Subscriptions are available at selected restaurants, enabling customers to choose a plan, indicate meal preferences and set delivery details.

Plans cover lunch and dinner for three, five or 15 days, with options to edit or reschedule meals, change delivery addresses or cancel, in line with platform terms and conditions.

The service also carries a shuffle option that allows the app to pick meals for the customers.

Healthy Subscriptions is currently live in selected cities, including Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, with additional locations to follow.

In a blog post, Zomato said: “The goal was never to encourage repetitive eating habits. Healthy Subscriptions is designed to make planned, considered food choices more accessible, convenient, and easier to integrate into everyday life.”

Last month, Zomato scrapped a contract provision that had enabled it to penalise restaurants for giving lower prices to walk-in customers.

The change came after pushback from restaurant partners, who said the clause limited their freedom to set different prices across sales channels.
