US-based pizza chain Little Caesars has partnered with Coco Robotics to provide autonomous delivery services in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, as well as in downtown San Jose in the near future.

According to a statement, Coco delivery robots are already operating from participating Little Caesars restaurants, with the companies planning a wider rollout to additional locations.

Under the arrangement, customers ordering through DoorDash and Uber Eats platform at participating outlets may have their orders delivered by a Coco robot.

The service connects with the existing ordering systems of both delivery platforms, meaning store teams do not need to manually enter orders or take additional steps.

Orders are transferred from the kitchen to the kerb, before a Coco robot carries out the final stage of delivery.

Little Caesars innovation vice-president Trish Heusel said: “This partnership is about delivering more value and convenience to our guests.

“By integrating Coco’s autonomous robots, we can deliver hot, delicious pizza in record time to more customers.

“With Coco, we’re now able to make deliveries even more quickly. Automating deliveries also reduces congestion in our stores and helps get orders out faster during peak periods.”

Headquartered in downtown Detroit, Michigan, Little Caesars operates restaurants across all 50 US states and in 31 countries and territories.

This year, Little Caesars also collaborated with Flytrex to launch autonomous aerial delivery of its pizzas.

Commenting on the new partnership, Coco Robotics enterprise vice-president Melissa Fahs said: “We’re proud to partner with Little Caesars, an iconic brand known for its dedication to speed and value.

“By integrating our robots into Little Caesars operations, we’re showing how autonomous deliveries can enhance the guest experience at scale, making ultra-fast, sustainable delivery a reality for millions of pizza lovers.”
