Starbucks in partnership with Chase Merchant Services has launched a new credit card system as part of its loyalty programme.
The Starbucks Rewards Visa Card will offer customers the chance to earn the brand’s ‘Stars’ rewards points with every purchase anywhere Visa is accepted then redeem these Stars for food and drink rewards in Starbucks outlets.
The card, which has an annual fee of $49, provides benefits like one Star for every $4 spent outside of stores, 2,500 Stars with a spend of $500 in the first three months of membership and ‘Gold Status’, which offers additional rewards.
Executive Vice President of Starbucks, Matt Ryan said: “It’s important to us to make earning rewards as easy for our customers as possible, and the Starbucks Rewards Visa Card is a powerful tool for us to do that because of how easily it fits into their daily lives.
“This credit card also makes every day more rewarding for Starbucks and Chase customers through the ability to quickly earn Stars and benefits – including more food and beverage rewards for any occasion.”
Head of digital products for Chase, Jennifer Roberts added: “We want to give card members who can’t live without their Starbucks beverage an easy way to earn more Rewards.
